Multan Sultans is the 6th team which is decided to add in the Third Season of PSL 2018. The Third Season of PSL is depended upon total 6 teams. The first two seasons include the 5 teams but in the Third season its increases to 6 teams. The number of matches also increased to 34 matches.

Wasim Akram joined the Multan Sultans squads as the cricket operations director.  It is also expected that may b the Waqar Younis also join the Multan Sultans as team head coach.

PSL Second Season includes Peshawar Zalmi, Quetta Gladiators, Lahore Qalandars, Karachi King and Islamabad United. In 2018 Squads, Multan Sultans also added in Team Squads of PSL Schedule 2018. PSL agree to pay the US $5.2 million per year to Multan Sultan for joining PSL 2018.

The expected captain of Multan Sultans is Muhammad Hafeez but not announced yet by PCB. Mahela Jayawardene may also select as vice-caption of the team.  Imran Nazir is the first player which signed for Multan Sultans.

As PCB conduct a tour of Pakistan different region for selecting the 6th team.  After Short listing the five different regions, Multan Sultans were the final winners and selected as the 6th team of PSL 2018 tournament.

Why did 6th team add in PSL 2018?

PCB and ICC are doing much effort to come back cricket in Pakistan. As in the PSL First Season, the population is not interested in PSL as in PSL Second Season 2017.  In the Second Season, PCB records the immediate increase in the fans of PSL.  Because of this reason, PCB decided to increase the number of team in the PSL Third Season 2018. In result, Multan Sultans added as the 6th team of PSL in 2018 tournament.

As the 6th team is added in the PSL 2018 series, it will also increase the number of matches from 24 to 34.  After the successful match of Pakistan vs World X1 in September 2017, PCB decides to manage the 10 matches in Pakistan including final match.  Remaining matches are played at Dubai International Cricket Stadium and Sharjah Cricket Stadium, Sharjah.

In PSL 2018 Schedule, 10 matches will be played in Pakistan. Out of 10, six matches will play at Gadaffi Cricket Stadium, Lahore and 4 will decide to play in National Cricket Stadium, Karachi. The Final matches of PSL 2018 will also decide to play in Gaddafi Cricket Stadium Lahore, Pakistan.

The PSL Schedule 2018 is announced.  Multan team owner said that we will soon announce team, Schedule, coach, and captain of the team. After this announcement, PSL fans are waiting for the Team squads of Multan Sultans.

The sixth team allowed for selecting the 10 players from players who are released from five teams. Remaining players will select consecutively.

Najam Sethi said that the initial agreement with the rest of the franchises allowed the PSL to introduce the 6th team Multan Sultans.

Two chines players also join Multan Sultan Team Squad.

After the successful event of World X1 match, Najam Sethi is very excited to host the possible number of matches in Pakistan. The Final Match of PSL 2018 may b hosted by Karachi in National Cricket Stadium.

The chairman of PCB also said that “we delivered the message to rest of the word that Pakistan is the safe country for every aspect”.
