Lahore Qalandars is a Pakistani professional Cricket franchise. It played the first Season of Pakistan Super League. It was developed in 2015 when PCB announced the Pakistan Super League. The home ground of Lahore Qalandars is Gaddafi Stadium capacity of 27,000 peoples.
Lahore Qalandars owned by Qatar Lubricants Company Limited (QALOC). The Lahore Qalandars franchise sold to QALOC for the US $24 million for a period of ten years. It is the Second most expensive team of Pakistan Super League. As Karachi Kings is the first most expensive team of Pakistan Super League sold for the US $26 million.
The squad of Lahore Qalandars includes 20 players out of which 7 is foreign players and 13 local players. Lahore Qalandars is the most favorite team of the first season as it represents the city Lahore called the heart of Pakistan.
The current Captain of Lahore Qalandars is Brendon McCullum. The coach of the team is Paddy Upton a former South African cricketer. It is the second most expensive team and sold to international company QALOC.
Lahore Qalandars started PSL First Season in 2016 but the first two matches are not for them. They lost their first two matches both from Karachi Kings and Peshawar Zalmi. As the start is not so good for Lahore Qalandars but the First Season of PSL is also not so good for Lahore Qalandars. They won only two matches out of eight matches.
In the Second Season of Pakistan Super League, Lahore Qalandars picked a number of players including bowler Yasir Shah and Sunil Narine. The team retained their previous players like Umar Akmal, Azhar Ali and Dwayne Bravo.
The Second Season of PSL also not very much lucky for Lahore Qalandars as First Season. Lahore Qalandars lost their first two matches against Quetta Gladiators and Islamabad United. In this Season Lahore Qalandars just won 3 matches out of 8.
As the tournament progress to Sharjah, the first match was won by Lahore Qalandars but they can’t able to win the second match against Quetta Qalandars.
Qalandars won their next match against Islamabad United.
As the tournament Shift back to Dubai, Qalandars loss from Zalmi and now it’s much to win from Karachi king to stay in the tournament. But after a lot of efforts, Lahore Qalandars lost their match against Karachi Kings and out of the tournament.
