Pakistan Cricket Board chairman Najam Sethi meet with CM Sindh for hosting some of the PSL matches in Karachi. He has fully co-operated with PCB chairman and sure to give full proof security for PSL.
Najam Sethi After the meeting said that “It’s depending upon the PSL Schedule 2018 and security of Karachi that how many matches will host by Karachi. It’s all depends upon the time.
After the meetup with CM Sindh Najam Sethi said that “The arrangements of security for PSL will be discussed with the ICC team. They would also receive detailed briefings during the visit. The Structure of security plan which was designed for World XI in the previous month also has been forwarded to the Sindh government,”
He also added that “When we first thought of holding PSL matches in Pakistan, our wish was to start hosting them in Karachi but due to unavoidable circumstances, we had to change our plans.”
He continued and said “As we all saw the PSL final in Lahore in the Second Year went smoothly as were the three T20 matches against the World XI also played in Gadaffi Cricket Stadium, Lahore. The PCB wants to bring back international cricket not just to Lahore and Karachi but also to the rest of the country where facilities are available for top-flight matches”.
“There are many other related issues that need to be addressed properly. These issues are as important as other aspects before we can hope to see Pakistan hosting top sides,”.
“Foremost is the concerns of the visiting players and their cricket boards since they are the ones who matter most. We are familiar their fears on touring Pakistan, but I must say the security situation is gradually becoming better by the day.”
He delivered some important information of National Cricket Stadium and said that “We had to cancel the company’s tender which was assigned to renovate the National Cricket Stadium but we found some major discrepancies and other loopholes in the figures it quoted to the board. We were forced to cancel the tender because this is not a small project”
He added more about the stadium and said that “We have also decided that the renovation process for the stadium would be carried out in two phases. One is a short-term and other long-term”.
In the short term face we plan to back the stadium in a suitable condition as soon as possible and ready it for PSL matches.
In the Long-Term Program, we need 18 months to set the stadium in very valuable manners. As PSL 2018 is started in February so we would work on short-term and be sure to ready the stadium for PSL 2018.
